An amazing ride by Jens Voigt, smashing the previous record for distance cycled in an hour. 51.115 kilometers, over 31 miles per hour! The Hour Record is a big deal in cycling; it takes place under controlled conditions, around an oval track, typically indoors. No headwinds, no tailwinds, no climbs, no descents. Just one man against the clock. An exercise in pain management, and who's better at that than 43 year old (yes, really, 43!) Jens Voigt. The picture is taken from the 2014 Tour de France, where Jens did his usual thing, charging off the front, alone, daring anyone to try and catch him. Today, he did it one last time. And yes, he was riding a Trek!
